Megan believes in an anthropological approach to child rearing and incorporating that into our modern lives. What does this mean? She believes that our society has taken us away from what is natural and away from what is instinctual. When mothers and families are allowed and encouraged to trust their instincts and do what feels right, we have happier healthier and calmer children. Basically, She’s an attachment parenting advocate.

Our Family
Another picture of me and my little family! My inspiration for all that I do!

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. This is the gold standard in breastfeeding support. I have worked with families in a variety of settings: postpartum department, neonatal intensive care unit, and pediatric department. My style has developed to be full of empathy for new families and a dedication to minimization of unnecessary interventions in breastfeeding. In the NICU, I experienced premature infant breastfeeding behaviors and challenges. I have worked with premature neonates in the NICU on nursing. My education and consultation style is adaptable and multifaceted. I meet you where you are in your knowledge and experience.  It is vitally important that  information be presented in a tangible and memorable way.

I enjoy providing lactation consultation, education, and hosting support groups. I provide appointments in the comfort of your home and am able to bill your insurance to cover these appointments. I also have a sliding scale clinic for those that are under-insured or their individual plan does not cover IBCLC care.

I have been a massage therapist since 2005. I graduated from an Associate’s degree in Therapeutic Massage from Virginia College in Huntsville, Alabama. Shortly after graduating, I completed a certification program in NeuroMuscular Therapy from The NMT Center in St. Petersberg, Florida. I received a very thorough NeuroMuscular education from Judith Delany, LMT, CNMT, the author of Clinical Applications of Neuromuscular Therapy, Volumes 1&2. In my early practice years, much of my experience in aquatic and land physical therapy, neurology, and acute accident clinics. My interests refocused the year after my son was born. 2012 began the journey towards on Prenatal, Postpartum, and Labor Support Massage therapy. I completed Advanced Certification in Prenatal, Labor Support, and Postpartum Massage with Boulder College of Massage Therapy. I have been working exclusively with prenatal, postpartum, and birthing families ever since and I love it!

I have been attending births since 2012. I feel that it really puts all of my other skills into practice in a real and tangible way. I have never been able to fully utilize my skills in such a fluid way before in my career. Assisting families in childbirth is my calling. I feel a sense of purpose when empowering  families in childbirth and the early postpartum period. I am an optimal fetal positioning and advanced doula practitioner.

Birth justice is a passion of mine. I work extensively to improve equity in birth. Every birthing person deserves a doula. I love serving families of all shapes and sizes regardless of religious affiliation, spirituality, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, body type, or political leanings. I love working with diverse families of all shapes and sizes!

Personal Life:

I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and moved to Denver in the summer of 2008. This came about after spending a summer traveling around and looking for my niche!  I came to visit for three weeks and fell in love with Colorado!  During this time my license transferred and I never left! I met my husband 18 months later and the rest is history! We have a beautiful son that is the light of our life! I love Colorado! Such beauty here! In my free time, I love spending time with my family. We pick veggies at Miller’s farms, have cook outs with our friends, and relaxing at home!
