A doula is someone who is trained to support a birthing family or person, in labor, and during the postpartum period. A doula supports the birthing family emotionally, physically, spiritually, and informationally, with focus on the birthing person. A doula is the member of your birth team that provides continuous care from the time that they are called to you in when you are in labor until after you give birth. Mama Nurture Wellness is dedicated to serving families of all shapes, sizes, LGBTQ, cultures, religious backgrounds.
Natural infant feeding can be tough in the beginning! You are not alone: 92% of new parents report lactation issues in the first week of their baby's life! I have supported thousands of families getting off to a great start meeting their infant feeding goals. I have also worked with many families experiencing more complicated situations. I provide lactation consultation, prenatal lactation education, and a weekly lactation support group, and I bill insurance for all lactation consultation and accept all types of private insurance!
Massage Therapy has many benefits. It is beneficial in reducing such issues as anxiety, headaches, insomnia, aches and pains of pregnancy, pelvic floor imbalance, back pain, and the list continues. Massage types offered: Prenatal, Postpartum, and Therapeutic Massage. Prenatal and Postpartum massage may be performed face down or side-lying. We have special cushion systems to make either incredibly comfortable. I am able to accommodate most pregnant people in a face down position until 36 weeks.

I believe in an anthropological approach to child rearing and incorporating that into our modern lives. What does this mean? I believe that our society has taken us away from what is natural and away from what is instinctual. When mothers and families are allowed and encouraged to trust their instincts and do what feels right, we have happier healthier and calmer children. Basically, I'm an attachment parenting advocate. I also maintain a blog about evidence-based concepts around child birth, lactation, parenting, and education. I'm glad that you've found me and I look forward to meeting you!
When Women are Respected and Supported in Birth Families are More Happy and Connected!
Megan Dempsey is amazing. She gave us great support during our pregnancy and made our birth very special. She has a wide knowledge base and is really interested in helping her clients to have the best labor/delivery possible. Having a doula was the best decision we could have made. Prenatal massage was also really helpful and we’ve continued to have support as we breastfeed.
